The WAVES over IP (WoIP) RADIO-900M, part of the Alerity integrated Mass Notification platform, is an Ethernet
communications radio that provides wireless connections between
Ethernet devices and/or Ethernet wired networks.(LANs) and
complies with relevant IEEE 802.11 standards. The RADIO-900M is
for communication to end nodes only (i.e. HPSA-8100-R series) and
can be added to any node within the WoIP Mass Notification System
for wireless communications. It is not used for trunk applications.
The WoIP wireless Ethernet device uses a 900 MHz Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) wireless transceiver to avoid interference with a site’s WiFi infrastructure. It combines the benefits of reliable distance communications with data throughputs to 54 Mbps (country regulation dependant).
To add wireless communications, one Master Radio (IPC and RADIO-900M0 must be in the network. Each Master Radio can support up to 15 end nodes/15 radios.
Filtering and security measures include MAC address and IP filtering and encryption to WPA2; 802.11i enterprise level standard.
