The CS4350 stereo audio digital/analog converter (DAC) is noteworthy for its superior audio quality and ease of design. The CS4350 features an on-chip phase-locked-loop- (PLL) based master clock that supports 24-bit resolution, up to 192 kHz sampling rates and 109 dB dynamic range. Because of its on-chip PLL, the CS4350 is ideal for applications where an audio-related system clock is not present, such as set-top boxes, digital televisions, personal video recorders, DVD players and recorders, A/V receivers and automotive applications such as head units, telematics and in-car entertainment systems. The CS4350 is based on an advanced multibit Delta Sigma architecture that provides the basis for its excellent dynamic range and improved out-of-band noise performance. By integrating the PLL, the CS4350 has eliminated the need for external master clock routing across the circuit board by locking to the incoming left-right clock signal, as opposed to the video clock or other high-speed clock sources, thus significantly reducing interference and clock-jitter sensitivity. This feature gives system designers a very high-performance DAC that also simplifies product designs.
