Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois. AMT also operates another enterprise serving clients in Southeast Iowa with diverse needs.
AMT has over 500 employees, serves more than 90 communities, and handles 67,000 ambulance calls per year!
Objectives
Pearl Technology was tasked with designing and providing audiovisual solutions for many areas of the facility. These areas include a classrooms, boardroom, conference rooms, emergency operations center, and medical simulation & training facility. Each space has brought its own unique demands and challenges that required the team a Pearl Technology to go above and beyond in order to meet the needs of AMT.
Spaces & Challenges
Dispatch & Emergency Operations Center
The dispatch and emergency operations centers is a fully staffed command facility that handles and routes over 67,000 ambulance or medical transportation calls yearly for its various locations.
The custom 32:9 projection screen displays a wide variety of vital information and utilizes dual high 4K laser projectors. These projectors are edge blended and all wall content can be displayed in a variety of configurations with a custom video wall processor.
The center is vital to operations and equipment must be reliable and functioning 24 hours per day 7 days per week. For this reason, AMT relies on the Pearl Technology service team with a Platinum 24/7 response support agreement.
Classrooms
AMT features a variety of spaces for the training and education of emergency medical personnel and other employees. The headquarters offers several rooms for this purpose.
The tiered classroom features auditorium style seating with multiple displays to accommodate larger groups. The smaller classrooms facilitate more intimate groups and bring in the aspect of one on one trainings with instructors using equipment or manequins.
All classrooms feature technology for inperson or remote learning.
Medical Simulation & Training Facility
AMT has expanded its education and training capabilities with the additional of a medical simulation space. Multiple rooms simulate real world scenarios including an ambulance built indoors.
A variety of high resolution cameras offer instructors the ability to see and hear the details of what is being done by the students on monitors in a central control room. Instructors can then talk back to students in each space to give further instruction. All of these scenarios have the ability to record for playback and debrief in the classroom at a later time.
The system also features the ability to send live simulation to the classrooms to be viewed by other students as well as the capability for remote proctoring from instructors located anywhere in the world.
Boardroom & Conference Spaces
In addition to the training facilities at AMT, there is a need for internal meeting among the 500+ employees and staff.
Several meeting and conference spaces are available for use at multiple facilities and all feature the latest in display and conferencing technology.
Each room has been developed to create a standardized user experience ensuring operators of the systems will know how to use the system from room to room and building to building. Enterprise standardization for all rooms and facilities helps to establish user adoption and ease of use.
All rooms feature flat panel displays, high resolution cameras, microphones, speakers, and single connection points for all features required for presentation or conferencing. Automation behind the scenes plays a critical role in simplification of operation for users.
